The Division of  Information Resources and Planning (IR&P) was established in 2004 to provide a single point of focus for all of UTEP’s information related support services including information acquisition, storage, processing, and dissemination as well as institutional research and planning. Constituent organizations include Instructional Support Services (ISS), Information Technology (IT), The UTEP Library and The Center for Institutional Evaluation, Research and Planning (CIERP). By bringing together these organizations, UTEP expects to realize a synergy between like organizations along with improvements in effectiveness and efficiency. Its specific goals are to support the UTEP mission by:

• Providing high reliability information technology capabilities to all members of the UTEP family
• Improving the effectiveness of the academic enterprise through appropriate technological applications
• Providing library and related services appropriate to an emerging doctoral research intensive university and
• Promoting and supporting the use of reliable data in decision making.
